Privacy Policy

This explains what Loaves and Baskets collects, why, and who it's shared with. We don't sell your information.

What we collect

• What you type into a bill: your name, the restaurant, items and prices, which items you picked, and your tip.
• Receipt photos: sent to our receipt-reading provider (Anthropic) to read the items. We don't keep the photo.
• Payment records: the amount, fee, and the payment's ID from Stripe or PayPal, so we can show who has paid. We never see or store card numbers.
• Host payout setup: hosts enter identity and bank details directly into Stripe's or PayPal's own forms. We don't receive or store Social Security numbers or bank account numbers. We store the ID of the host's Stripe or PayPal account, or the Venmo, Cash App, PayPal.me name or Apple Cash phone or email they choose to share, which people on their bills can see.
• Host phone number: hosts log in with a code we text them, so their payout setup works on any phone and unpaid fees stay with their account. We don't text you anything else.
• On your phone: your browser remembers your name, which bills you're on, and (for hosts) a private code linking you to your payout setup. Clearing your browser data removes these.

Who we share it with

• Everyone on the same bill sees the names, items, tips, totals and who has paid on that bill.
• Stripe and PayPal, to process payments and verify hosts.
• Twilio, to text hosts their login code.
• Service providers that run the app: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Anthropic (receipt reading).
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep bills and payment records as long as needed to run the app, handle problems and meet legal and tax requirements. Email us to ask for your information to be deleted.

Children

Loaves and Baskets isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child under 13 has used it, contact us and we'll delete their information.
